fake brick wall panels purchased another home and our objective ended up being to duplicate the wall looks that are available at the popular Italian restaurant Olive Garden. We had searched the net and checked devoid of local builder's supplies all to no avail so that you can locate pre-made wall panels just like those invoved with the restaurant. Finally, we decided it was time to create the walls ourselves.
After considerable research we found that we might duplicate the appearance simply by using a kind of faux painting. We now feel that we now have found out the secrets to mimicking these beautiful walls although procedure is fairly simple. The steps we use are as follows:
Prime the wall or surface with an above average quality primer
Trowel about the joint compound to experience the specified texture
Prime the wall again to protect the texture you've got just created
Paint the wall twice with whatever base coat you might have decided upon
Apply either "Aqua Bond" or "Aqua Cream" glazes tinted with "Aqua Color" and applied which has a A inch nap roller to cover the rough surfaces of your respective new wall texture. A good choice would be Earth Brown tinted with Brown Aqua Color within the ratio of 3 to 1
Immediately wipe off of the glaze. The glaze will adhere to the many cracks and crevices.
When applying and removing the glaze it certainly helps you to incorporate some additional hands assisting you since this glaze will have a tendency to dry very quickly. Make sure to make use of a good quality glaze because the cheaper versions function not give the desired results that you may want.
I choose to "Aqua Cream" glaze. It is an excellent choice in duplicating the Olive Garden look. The glaze goes on quickly and will be rub out in the edges without problems while coming back into the wall area leaving without any added lines. It is a very durable glaze that really would require no additional top coats. You should remember that if your basecoat isn't totally acrylic the glaze will soak in to the walls quickly.
An interesting note in regards to the Oliver Garden walls is always that just the top third with the walls have been glazed. It starts out with the glaze being the darkest with the top and gradually fading to no glaze on the lower portions from the wall. With the walls being heavily textured it generates the illusion of added depth resulting from the shadows. This is a deliberate attempt at making the wall's maintenance simpler, because it becomes much easier to touch up when necessary.
It isn't difficult to duplicate this effect which presents such an attractive eye appeal at Olive Garden in case you follow these simple instructions and use the highest quality products available. That is the secret to success.
